emotional wellbeing climate cafe
Date: Saturday 20th June, Time: 10 -11.30am.
Location: Zoom – online video platform.
Please note FOR CURRENT H&F XR REBELS ONLY. Joining details on normal WhatsApp channels.
As we are not able to meet in a physical cafe-space, bring a cup of tea on-line and join us to share a reflective and experiential space together.
The central aim of a Climate Café is to give permission for conversations that can be difficult to have with family, friends, colleagues. We will hold an open, confidential and non-judgemental space for thoughts and feelings that can be hard to share or even fully articulate to ourselves, that concern our feelings about the climate and related issues – for example, feelings of hopelessness, anxiety, panic, deep grief, anger, frustration. These are feelings which it is often difficult to connect with and explore in the busyness of daily life and within XR’s more action-focused discussions. If anyone wishes to bring poetry or a short piece of writing to share it would be welcome, however nothing is required, expected, or pre-determined.
Due to the emotional nature of this space, it is important that we can start and finish this café as a group – so we ask that attendees can try to arrive promptly at 10am and commit to the whole café if possible.
There will be space for approximately 10-12 attendees.
The two us us facilitating this cafe come from different professional backgrounds with a psychology focus and will bring our emotional capacities to the group to facilitate this process for us all.
Look forward to seeing you there and details of how to connect on ZOOM will be posted in the normal WhatsApp channels.
